Interview: Bülent Atlas on Sony Z200
Provideo Technology: First of all, can we get to know you? In which areas do you operate as AGB Media?
Bülent Atlas: We are a team focused on sports broadcasting. We undertake the live broadcast services of many federations. We have been with the Volleyball Federation for 4-5 years, and we work with the Hockey Federation. From time to time, we have also broadcasted in different branches such as basketball and rowing. Our core area of expertise is sports broadcasting and especially live broadcasting.
Provideo Technology: On which platforms do you broadcast?
Bülent Atlas: Mostly via the federations' YouTube channels. Sometimes we also broadcast on the platforms of international federations.
Provideo Technology: You have been working with Provideo Technology for a long time. Can you tell us about this cooperation?
Bülent Atlas: Yes, we have been working with Provideo constantly for about 3-4 years. We buy all our equipment from there, from cameras to accessories. With the guidance of Mr. Süleyman, we switched from Z190 to Z200. This transition has really been a big transformation.
Provideo Technology: Why did you choose Sony Z200 cameras as your sports broadcasting camera?
Bülent Atlas: Initially, we started with Canon XA35s. When things grew, we bought 3 Sony Z190s and were very satisfied. However, when production stopped, we switched to Z200 upon Provideo's recommendation. We are glad we did. Z200 is a completely different level for sports broadcasting. Especially with its fast and reliable autofocus, SRT support, streaming features, and regular updates, it makes a difference.
Provideo Technology: So, what features impressed you most about the Z200?
Bülent Atlas: Autofocus is incredible. It catches the story instantly. Broadcasters like us usually don't use manual focus; we expect the camera to follow automatically. As a sports broadcasting camera, the Sony Z200 is perfect in this regard. Also, features that we used to buy for an extra fee now come as standard in this model. 12G and 4K support also provide a great advantage for the future.
Provideo Technology: What other technologies do you use besides cameras?
Bülent Atlas: Our live broadcast vehicle, tripods, zoom arms, monitörs... We prefer Godox monitörs. Also, we use DJI's wireless units and are very satisfied. We also bought two models from Holyland, and we were very satisfied with both. We are very meticulous in all our equipment choices; we research for a long time before buying.
Provideo Technology: What kind of difference do you experience in terms of broadcast quality?
Bülent Atlas: Currently, we have 3 Sony Z190s and 3 Sony Z200s. In 5-6 camera broadcasts, the harmony in terms of color and quality is great. When we switched to 1080p, the increase in image quality was clearly felt. Also, we can broadcast at 60 fps, which is very important in sports broadcasting. Our next goal is to step into 4K broadcasting.
Provideo Technology: Can you tell us a bit about your future plans?
Bülent Atlas: We always want to take the quality of sports broadcasting one step further. With the equipment we have, we successfully broadcasted international organizations such as European championships. We don't have the resources as large companies do, but we achieve great things by using the equipment we have in the most efficient way. We built our own broadcast vehicle ourselves, which has been a strength that makes us different.
Provideo Technology: Finally, how would you evaluate your relationship with Provideo Technology?
Bülent Atlas: We are very satisfied. Every product we bought helped us grow our business. Even though we haven't met face-to-face yet, the relationship of trust we have established with Mr. Süleyman is very valuable to us. Equipment investments play a large role in the growth of our business, and at this point, Provideo has become an indispensable partner for us.
